Bolt Circle and Hole Coordinates Generator

Calculate exact hole positions on a pitch circle, verify their sequence in the preview and prepare example NC code for three control families.

Method

How does the generator work?

The generator divides a full circle by the number of holes. For each point it calculates the angle, then X and Y from the PCD radius and circle centre. Full precision is retained during calculation; rounding is used only for display and export.

Angle convention

0° is on the positive X axis and 90° is on the positive Y axis. CCW increases the angle counter-clockwise; CW reverses the sequence.

Example

For a 100 mm PCD, 6 holes, centre X0 Y0 and a 0° start angle in the CCW direction, successive positions are 60° apart on a 50 mm radius.

Applications

Flanges, discs, fixtures, mounting plates, circular drilling patterns and fast preparation of coordinates for a CNC program.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does PCD diameter mean?

PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter) is the diameter of the pitch circle passing through the centres of all holes.

Where is the 0° angle measured from?

From the positive X axis. The 90° angle lies on the positive Y axis.

What is the difference between CW and CCW?

CW places successive holes clockwise, while CCW places them counter-clockwise.

Can I run the generated code directly on a machine?

Not without verification. The code is a readable example, but it must be checked, simulated and adapted to the control, machine, tool and process before use.

Is any data sent to a server?

No. Inputs, coordinates and NC code are processed locally. A configuration link stores settings after the # character, so the browser does not include them in the server request.

Does the generator support an offset circle centre?

Yes. Centre X and Y values may be positive, negative or zero, and the preview automatically adapts its scale.
